Terms of Service - Compound Calc

Agreement to Terms: By downloading, installing, or using Compound Calc, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Court Invest Limited ("we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the Compound Calc mobile application ("the App").

By accessing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must immediately cease using the App and uninstall it from your device.

2. Description of Service

Compound Calc is a financial calculation tool designed to help users:

Calculate compound interest on investments and savings
Track financial goals and progress toward them
View visual projections of investment growth over time
Store calculation history for future reference
Perform reverse calculations to determine required rates, time periods, or principal amounts
Compare different investment scenarios

All calculations and data storage occur locally on your device. The App does not require an internet connection and does not transmit your data to external servers.

3. Not Financial Advice

Compound Calc is a calculation tool for informational and educational purposes only. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

The calculations, projections, and results provided by the App:

Are mathematical models based on the inputs you provide
Do not account for taxes, inflation, fees, or market volatility
Are not predictions or guarantees of future investment performance
Should not be used as the sole basis for financial decisions
May not reflect actual investment returns or outcomes

You should consult with qualified financial advisors, accountants, or legal professionals before making any financial decisions. Court Invest Limited is not a financial advisor and does not provide personalized financial guidance.

4. User Responsibilities

By using the App, you agree to:

Use Responsibly: Use the App in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations
Verify Information: Independently verify all calculations and not rely solely on the App for financial decisions
Accurate Inputs: Understand that calculation accuracy depends on the inputs you provide
Backup Data: Maintain your own backups of important financial information (the App stores data locally on your device)
Device Security: Protect your device with appropriate security measures (screen lock, encryption, etc.) to secure your financial data
Age Requirement: Be at least 13 years of age, or have parental/guardian consent to use the App

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

Court Invest Limited, its directors, officers, employees, and affiliates SHALL NOT BE LIABLE for any:

Direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
Financial losses resulting from decisions based on App calculations
Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in calculation results
Damages resulting from device malfunction, data loss, or corruption
Losses arising from your reliance on the App's calculations or projections

YOU EXPRESSLY AGREE THAT YOUR USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

In jurisdictions that do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

All content, features, and functionality of the App, including but not limited to:

Software code, algorithms, and calculation logic
User interface design, graphics, and icons
Text, documentation, and help materials
Trademarks, service marks, and logos

are owned by Court Invest Limited and are protected by New Zealand and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

License Grant: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Rent, lease, sell, or sublicense the App
Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
Use the App for commercial purposes without our written permission

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains:

What data is stored locally on your device
How your data is protected
Your rights regarding your data
How we do NOT collect or transmit your data to third parties

By using the App, you consent to the local storage of your calculation history and financial goals on your device as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Updates and Modifications

We reserve the right to:

Update the App: Release updates, bug fixes, and new features at our discretion
Modify Features: Add, change, or remove features without prior notice
Discontinue Service: Discontinue the App or any features at any time

While we strive to maintain backward compatibility, we cannot guarantee that future updates will not affect your stored data or user experience. We recommend regularly backing up your device data through Android's built-in backup features.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect:

Changes in the App's features or functionality
Legal or regulatory requirements
Best practices or industry standards

We will notify you of material changes by:

Posting the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last Updated" date
Displaying a notification within the App (for significant changes)

Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the App and uninstall it.

10. Termination

You may terminate your use of the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. Upon termination:

Your license to use the App immediately ends
You must cease all use of the App
Locally stored data remains on your device until you manually delete it

We reserve the right to discontinue the App or block access to it at any time, for any reason, without liability to you.

11. Third-Party Services

The App currently does not integrate with or use any third-party services. All functionality is self-contained and operates offline.

If future versions integrate third-party services (such as cloud backup or analytics), we will update these Terms and our Privacy Policy accordingly and notify you of such changes.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Court Invest Limited, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

Your use or misuse of the App
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
Financial decisions you make based on the App's calculations

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Auckland, New Zealand.

If you are using the App from outside New Zealand, you are responsible for compliance with your local laws and regulations.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Court Invest Limited regarding the use of the App and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.

16. No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.

17. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to any affiliate or successor without restriction.
